Projects are directed at obtaining an advanced level of control over the microstructure of polymers, in particular monomer sequence, during chain-growth polymerizations. The tools that are used vary from a variety of supramolecular interactions (such as H-bonding, metal-ligand complexation, Coulombic interactions and inclusion complexation) to exploring the reactivity of novel monomer pairs and employing them for the synthesis of well-defined, complex periodic copolymers.
